Alleged Fraud: Shehu Sani Obtained $15,000 Naira Equivalent From Me – Witness Tells Court

A prosecution witness, Chairman, ASD Group of Companies, Alhaji Sani Dauda, has narrated at resumed hearing before the Federal High Court in Abuja, that senator Shehu Sani allegedly obtained the naira equivalent of Fifteen Thousand US Dollars cash from him.
The witness who gave his testimony in Hausa language and translated in English, told the court that Senator Sani had visited his Maitama residence in Abuja on the 19th day of November 2019 and pressurized him to give him the sum of five million naira to bribe four (4) Judges and a Prosecutor.
According to Alhaji Dauda, the former senator told him the request was pursuant to an arrangement with the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) to direct the four Judges not to hear any case between Alhaji Sani Dauda (ASD) and Abubakar Musa.
He further explained that, the said sum was released to Shehu Sani the following day, being November 20, 2019.
However, midway into the examination in chief, the interpreter who was called by the prosecution team was unable to interpret the evidence of the witness, thereby staying mute.
Being dissatisfied with the level of interpretation, the trial judge, Justice Innyang Ekwo adjourned the matter till July 7 for continuation of trial.
Sani is answering to a 2-count criminal charge bordering on advanced fee fraud and bribery.
