The FCT Hospital Management Board , under Health and Human Services Secretariat, says Asokoro District Hospital has resumed normal general Clinical services to its enrollees and intending enrollees requiring Healthcare in the facility.
In April this year, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FTCA), designated the Asokoro District Hospital as a quarantine facility to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
The hospital was designated for isolation of persons who had contacts with those infected with Coronavirus disease and immediately suspend its Out Patient Department (OPD) to protect visiting patients from exposure to coronavirus disease.
The Acting Chief Medical Director, Dr. Nnabuchi Chidi made this know while feeding questions from journalist in Abuja.
He explained that Asokoro Hospital which was converted to COVID 19 Isolation and Treatment Center in the wake of the pandemic, has fully resumed general services, following the discharge of the last COVID 19 patient from the facility on the 21st August,2020.
According to Dr Chidi, with the discharge of the last patient from the facility, the Hospital was decontaminated, sanitized and fumigated in readiness to start receiving patients for other health care needs within Abuja and it’s environs.
The Acting Chief Medical Director who maintained that Asokoro District Hospital had always lived up to expectation before COVID 19 outbreak, gave assurance that the facility is now safe for members of the public to patronize .
He added that all Doctors, Nurses and other Health workers have fully resumed their normal duties in the Hospital.
