Natives identifies FCT CP as corrupt free
Indigenous youths of Abuja under the auspices of Abuja Original Inhabitants Youth Empowerment Organisation (AOIYEO) have described the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, as a corrupt free police officer that takes his job to the extreme for the benefit of residents of FCT.
The President of the organisation, Commandant Isaac David, in a media briefing with journalists in Abuja yesterday, says that the CP Ciroma, has been passionately involved in fighting crime and criminality in the territory.
Commandant David further described CP Ciroma as a high ranking personal that has maintained and displayed a high reputation in the profession
“With little period we have worked with him we discovered that he hates corruption and that anybody around him should not be found to be involved in corrupt practices.
“He is so passionate to encourage anyone who has integrity and interest of the country at heart and ready to serve.
“He have zero tolerance for internal corruption. Was ready to dismiss and prosecute any person figured in corrupt practices in the police force,” he said.
He said in discharging his duty to the service of humanity and the nation towards a free crime society, the commissioner should further institute a combine task team and also empower the vigilantes group on information gathering.
According to David, as indigenous group in Abuja they have watched and accessed the activities of the Police in the FCT recently, and its leadership has tackled the upsurge of crime professionally “but we need more police outpost and police presence in most Abuja communities so that criminal activities will be brought to the barest minimum”
“We want Police in the quest to ensure the security of lives and properties in the FCT, should carry youths in communities along in identifying problems of crime and disorderliness that cause breakdown in the security of the territory. If this advise is adhered to the Police will do more in terms of crime tracking and earlier detective” he said.
David also said that the organisation intends to witness more task on crime control and creation of effective working partnership between communities in Abuja and the Police, whereby responsibilities will be given to various stakeholders in establishing and maintaining a peaceful neighborhoods.
“Our organisation has observed more fight in the territory on the issue of the popular ‘One Chance and kidnapping which was ravaging the FCT before the emergence of CP Ciroma.
“We have seen that there is complete difference in both community and conventional policing in the FCT, compare to the past. We pray that the FCT is gradually become the safest city in Nigeria, let the proactiveness of the Commission of Police, Adamu Ciroma speak loud.
“We are therefore calling on him to continue in the good work which he is doing in the territory and by the grace of God, the sky will be his limit as he discharge his duties without fear or favour” he said.
