IPAC Hails Appeal Court Judgement On Reinstatement Of Members

The Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria, IPAC, says the unanimous judgment of the court of appeal reinstating members to fully resume their constitutional mandate is a boost to the nation’s judicial system.

This is contained in a statement signed by President of the council, High Chief Peter Ameh.

It states that following the out come of the judgement the council is set to hold it Assembly meeting and also inaugurate electoral committee for the conduct of the 2020 Executive Council elections.

It adds that the council unanimously passed a Motion dissolving the Leonard Ezenwa led interim Committee.

The Council commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for holding forth and standing with the Council through the years and further welcomes our long standing Partners and major Stakeholders in the Country’s electoral Process.

According to the statement, the council commended the Lordship, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem for being bold, courageous and fearless in declaring as illegal, unconstitutional and void, the purported de-registration of some political parties by INEC without following laid down procedures and in utmost disregard with the provisions of Section 225(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

It dedicates the victory to Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi and to all Nigerians.
