The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Public Relations, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale says the N- power programme introduced by the Federal Government in 2016 has availed beneficiaries the opportunity to kickstart their businesses thereby making them small and Medium scale owners.
Mr. Ngelale stated this while featuring “National perspectives” a kapital FM current Affairs programme, discussing on the topic ” The impact of N-Power program on the Economy “.
He explained that the initiative by the Federal Government has provided hundreds of thousands of youths with small and medium scale enterprises.
“An empowerment programme would give our Young people practical skills” he said.
What we have achieved so far from the first set batch of five hundred and thirty six thousand batch A and B , we have seen about one hundred and ten thousand of the initial first two batches effectively starting their own micro and small enterprises, so they can be self employed and even go further to employ other Nigerians “.
Mr Ngelale therefore said keying into the Government social investment schemes such as the anchor Borrowers programme by the beneficiaries enable them develop their skills as well as boost their businesses.
“We all know that the Anchor Borrowers has facilitated millions of low interest to farmers across the country and Mr President has assisted in slashing fertilizers by 50% “.
A Beneficiary of the N-Power Programme, Mr Jude Eze while lauding the Federal Government efforts in enhancing the productivity of the youth appealed for more funding to enable more participants benefit from the programme.
” Being in the programme I was taught livestock farming and I can manage a farm.
Mr. Eze therefore advised Youths to always key into Government policies and programmes to be self reliant.
