Lawmaker Empowers Over 200 Youths In AMAC, Bwari


A member of the House of Representatives from AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of the FCT, Mr Micah Jiba has empowered over two hundred youths and women in his Constituency on skills acquisition.

Speaking during the empowerment Programme in Abuja, Mr  Jiba explained that the youths were trained on ICT and transportation then  women were trained on tailoring, soap making, tye and dye among others.

According to him, the empowerment Programme is part of his electioneering campaign to make the youth and women self reliant and reduce unemployment in the area.

He said the beneficiaries were also given cash to enable them establish their businesses.

Mr Jiba stated that the Programme would be a continuous one to enable more youths and women benefit from the empowerment Programme.

He explained that that the training which was in collaboration with Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology was also aimed at making youths and women in AMAC and Bwari contribute to economic development of the FCT and the country in general.

The Lawmaker therefore advised beneficiaries of the Programme to put into practice what they learnt during the empowerment Programme.

Mr Jiba equally enjoined them to always be good ambassadors and contribute their quota to the progress of the FCT.

Some of the Beneficiaries who commended Mr Jiba for the empowerment Programme said the empowerment would go a long way to make them employers of labour in their Communities.

Certificates were presented to the beneficiaries at the end of the empowerment Programme.
