NGO Alleviates Plights Of Kuchiko Residents In Bwari

A non governmental Organisation, Citizens Health Education and Development Initiative has handed over a borehole, Solar lighting facility and reconstructed Primary healthcare Centre to Kuchiko Community, Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

Handing over the projects to the community, the Director of the organisation,Mrs Selina Akunna Enyioha said they were aimed at enhancing the standard of living of the residents.

Mrs Enyioha noted that the healthcare centre which is the major healthcare facility in the community was donated by a corps member in 2014 as part of his Community Development Project but had been dilapidated some some time.

She explained that it was during an advocacy visit to the community last year that they requested the renovation of the Primary HealthCare Centre and provision of other basic needs.

Mrs Enyioha who added that the projects were through the World bank Staff Community Connections Campaign to improve the well-being of residents urged them to take care of the facilities.

The Chairman of Bwari Area Council Mr John Gabaya who was represented by the Supervisory Council Health, Mr Salihu Matthew thanked the organisation for the gesture.

He appealed to other organisations and individuals to assist the council to deliver more projects to the people.

The district head of Kuchiko Aminu Jagaba who was represented by a cabinet member Lawrence Yakubu promised to make good use of the facilities.
