NIREC Calls For 3-day National Prayer Against Covid-19 Pandemic

the Nigerian Inter-Religious Council ,NIREC, has called for a 3-day fasting and prayer across the country to seek the face of God to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world.
A statement signed by General Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Joseph Bade Daramola says since April 30, 2020, the Council has been calling on all Christians and Muslims to take part in the national weekly prayer meeting conducted online via zoom every Thursday in collaboration with the Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation (OSGF) and other stakeholders.
It adds that the three days fasting and prayers which commences July 3-5 2020 is for every Nigerian, the Muslims will begins on Friday, 3 July, 2020 by praying at the Abuja National Mosque, Christians will end the prayer on Sunday 5 July, 2020 at the National Christian Centre, Abuja at 3:00pm.

It explains that selected Christian leaders have been invited to participate in this all important programme.

According to the statement, the NIREC Leadership appreciates the efforts of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 creating awareness on how to keep safe from infection of the coronavirus.
