President Muhammadu Buhari has called on the Armed Forces and other security agencies to promote and implement comprehensive security measures towards addressing the security challenges in the country.
President Buhari made the call in a message to the Graduation of Course 28 of the National Defence College Nigeria in Abuja.
President Buhari represented by the Minister of Defence retired Major General Bashir Magashi explained that since the inception of the present administration measures have been put in place to address corruption, insecurity and challenges in the nation’s economy.
The President while commending the National Defence College Nigeria for sustaining the tradition of strategic grooming of selected senior military and police officers as well as senior officers from key Ministries, Departments and Agencies, pledged government’s continuous support to the college and other research institutions in finding lasting solutions to the challenges confronting the country.
He also emphasized the need for measures driven by long established principles of synergy through inter-agency cooperation, Defence transformation and reorganisation.
In an address of welcome, the Commandant National Defence College Nigeria, Real Admiral Mackson Kadiri who maintained that the college would continue to promote the ideals of the institution said participants of Course 28 were duly trained and prepared for national security and defence.
One hundred and seven fellows drawn from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Airforce, Ministries Departments and Agencies as well as Allied fellows graduated from Course 28.
Some outstanding participants were awarded for their performance.
