In a bid to alleviate the plights of people from the impact Covid-19 and lack of social amenities in Pasali “two”village of Kuje area council of FCT, the Rotary Club of Asokoro, District 9125 has distributed food items to over 140 families as well as refurbished a bore hole in the community.
The food items worth over N500,000 (five hundred thousand) and the bore hole sunk by the Club in 2015 was refurbished and a new power generator donated to replace the old one that is at the verge of collapse to help in pumping water for the community.
Speaking at the event, the President of Rotary Club Asokoro, Rotarian Felix Akinseye said that the donations was based on needs assessment of the community and have identified food and water as their major problems.
The President also stressed the need for regular hand washing and the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene towards preventing the spread of Covid-19 .
The beneficiaries commended the commitment and efforts of the club, as well as promised judicious use of the equipment.
They however call on other NGOs to emulate such kind gestures in bringing succour to the most vulnerables in the society.
Food items distributed includes: five kilogram of rice, beans, branded vegetable oil, red oil among other food stuffs.
