The suspension was sequel to a motion by the Senate leader, Yahaya Abdullahi as a tradition of the red chamber when a colleague dies.

Senate also suspended all other legislative activities and held a minute silence to honour their late colleague.

Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege , who presided over plenary announced that a valedictory be held next legislative day in honour of late Senator Osinowo.
