Stakeholders In Education Sector Urged To Take Precautionary Measures Before Reopening Schools

Stakeholders in the education sector have been urged to take necessary precautions before the full reopening of schools across the country.

Kogi State Chairman, Trade Union Congress, TUC, Comrade Ojo Ranti Matthew made the call while speaking to Radio Nigeria correspondent in Lokoja.

Comrade Ojo said government at all levels must put measures in place if Schools are to resume to sustain the achievement of the Presidential Task Force at curtailing the spread of Covid-19.

He also appealed to Kogi State government to implement the approval given for the recruitment of three thousand teachers in secondary schools towards boosting the manpower in the sector.

The TUC Boss also urged the State Government to give priority to full payment of salaries to civil servants as the Supreme Court judgement has laid to rest all litigations against the government.

While pledging the support of the Organized Labour in the State to the Government, Comrade Ojo called on Civil Servants to continue to perform their duties optimally.
